JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

b) Implementation of infection prevention and control measures.
c) Sharing knowledge and skills with fellow staff to improve on the quality of services
d) Accountability of available equipment, supplies and drugs and working time.
Key duties and responsibilities
• Timely participation in continuous coverage on wards and units (ANC, MBCP,
Immunization etc.) not less than 48 hours a week
• Participate in continuous professional development of the staff monthly.
• Timely administering of treatment to all patients in the hospital /outreaches as when
needed.
• Carry out timely nursing procedures as required
• Conduct health education talks at least once a week; these Must be documented in the
health education book.
• Timely receiving and registering of all patients that have come at outreach and static entry
points.
• Timely management and accounting for allocated resources
• Timely participation in prevention of illnesses and research activities.
• Carry out timely routine observations and keep proper records and ensure their safe
custody as required
• Carry out timely documentation on a daily basis as required in your work.
• Timely preparation and submission of monthly work plans and reports
• Regular follow up of clients as shall be allocated by supervisors (by home visits or phone
call
• Timely participation in primary health care activities at least once a week.
• Ensure all aseptic techniques are adhered to during aseptic procedures at all times.
• Timely maintenance of a clean working environment (dump dusting, decluttering etc.)
• Attending meetings as scheduled by the organization.
• These can be changed from time to time depending on the targets.
• Any other responsibility as assigned by the management.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. A certificate in Enrolled Nursing from a recognized institution.
2. Practicing license from The Uganda Nurses and Midwifes Council.
3. At least 3years working experience in a reputable hospital or health center
4. Excellent interpersonal skills.
5. Goal–driven, organized and efficient at work.
6. Willing to work in a rural area.
